The Crisafulli LNP Government are ignoring the unrelenting affordability pressures facing Queensland households.
The LNP have scrapped universal cost of living relief measures, and instead want families feeling the pinch to find savings while they splash cash on vanity projects and cost blowouts.
Economists pointed to a potential $2 billion windfall on top of already strong royalty revenues.
That was off the back of high oil, coal, gas and fuel prices caused by Trump's war.
That windfall should have been an opportunity.
An opportunity to ease pressure on households, to invest where it matters, and to strengthen the foundations of the state.
We firmly believe that money should go back to Queenslanders.
Queenslanders know Labor stands for using resource royalties to deliver real cost of living relief – like 50 cent fares, universal electricity bill relief and 20 per cent off rego discounts.
The Premier said measures like that would stay under his leadership.
They haven’t. And the budget papers confirm that the state has never had more revenue, never been more in deficit, all while delivering less to Queenslanders.
